See, listen to and enjoy new products from DAEWOO Electronics at IFA 2007
DAEWOO Electronics’ stand at IFA 2007 is located in Hall 7.2.b and follows the theme “Living in Harmony”. Many new products demonstrate the harmonious link between modern technology and impressive design. DAEWOO Electronics’ new solutions satisfy the desires and expectations of its customers, especially for TFT LCD TVs but also various recorders and mobile multimedia equipment.
This year, the focal point of the visitor area in Hall 7.2.b is the “DAEWOO Galaxy”. Visitors can enter this galaxy to discover new worlds of technology presented in individual open spaces on the left and right for ease of orientation. 1000 tiny cubes float above visitors representing a starry sky and conveying the idea of a galaxy - the DAEWOO Galaxy. Large square padded stools positioned around a rotating logo animation invite visitors to linger and take the time to see, listen to and feel the harmony of technology and design.
Like last year DAEWOO Electronics has again incorporated a large business area in the hall. In the relaxed atmosphere of the DAEWOO Lounge, dealers can learn more about the product range from a high-quality presentation.
The communication and design concept used on last year’s IFA stand has been nominated for the iF Communication Design Award 2007. We will find out on the evening of August 31 whether the agency D’Art Design Gruppe has won an award. Encouraged by this nomination, the designers and DAEWOO Electronics have optimized and developed the concept again for this year’s presentation.
Full HDTV, 100 hertz and MGDI Plus offer outstanding image quality
DAEWOO Electronics is using an extra area on the stand to vividly illustrate how new technologies have further enhanced imaging of TFT LCD TVs.
Everybody is talking about “full HDTV” and DAEWOO Electronics is presenting several new models for this high-resolution form of imaging. When compared with High Definition (HD), these new TFT LCD TVs display a total of around two million pixels thanks to their 1080 vertical and 1920 horizontal pixels. This is twice as many as HD and seven times as many as analogue TV. The TFT LCD TVs produced by DAEWOO Electronics bring the best out of any image. Pixel-to-pixel matching allows each pixel to be perfected and produces a clear, sharp overall picture.
The full HDTVs from DAEWOO Electronics always show images from 1080p sources like HD DVD, Blu-ray or X-Box in 1080p quality regardless of whether the HDMI, component or D-Sub input is used. The method used to input pictures into TVs is no longer key to ensuring the best levels of image quality.
The new 100-hertz technology used in TFT LCD TVs delivers enhanced images well worth seeing. Visitors can see the difference for themselves in a direct comparison between a 50-hertz model and a 100-hertz model (DLT-42G1 HZ). When TV images are transmitted at a rate of 50 images a second, the crystals in the LCD change every six milliseconds. Quick movements can therefore appear unclear and seem to flicker. The new 100-hertz TFT LCD TVs apply a trick of great virtue: they display 100 images a second and generate extra images in addition to the 50 original ones transmitted. The transitions between the images appear more fluid and the viewer does not notice any unclear movements. The result is shown in a picture that is sharper, richer in contrast and more true to colour.
At the 2005 IFA DAEWOO Electronics unveiled the Meta Genuine Digital Image (MGDI) technology it had developed in-house. This image enhancement chip has been optimised again and oriented towards full HD images. The main achievements of the MGDI Plus Full HD Engine are colour intensity very similar to the original, sharper contrast and no interfering picture noise.
TFT LCD TVs with striking design
DAEWOO Electronics is presenting three new series of TFT LCD TVs at the IFA 2007. The elegant design of all the models in the U1, U2 and G1 series and their fashionable black colour make them highly appealing. The differences can be seen in the details - not only regarding the technical features. For example, the U1 range has a transparent plastic strip in front of its row of loudspeakers (which is tilted back slightly) which uses discreetly illuminated symbols to indicate active functions. One of the characteristic features of the U2 series is the slightly curved wing shape of the row of loudspeakers fitted beneath a narrow, bright and reflective strip with an LED display. The G1 series picks up on the wing shape and expresses it with subtle elegance.
All the products in the three new series feature an integrated DVB-T tuner. Models in the U1 and U2 series can also feature a hard disc recorder if requested. The large screens are available with full HD technology (DLT-46U1 FH, DLT-46U2 FH and DLT-42G1 FH) and 100-hertz technology (DLT-46U1 HZ, DLT-46U2 HZ and DLT-42G1 HZ). The full HDTVs have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a contrast of 6000:1 while the 100-hertz models offer 1366 x 768 pixels and a contrast 5000:1.
The “Design Area” on the stand is used by DAEWOO Electronics to demonstrate the effect that a TV design can produce. TFT LCD models in various colours with high-sheen frames with a double clear coat finish invite visitors to look and touch. The frames are also available in leather or with a structured surface. In order to recognize and set new trends DAEWOO Electronics will question visitors about their favourite model.
Huge selection amongst small models
The 20-inch TFT LCD TVs from DAEWOO Electronics are small but chic and will look good in any room. Depending on personal taste buyers can choose between the D series with loudspeakers fitted on the sides (DLP-20D7N and DLP-20D8N) or the compact J series (DLP-20J1 and DLP-20J3) with loudspeakers fitted under the screen.
The new DLT-19W4 and DLT-22W4 offer a home cinema experience as their screen has a 16:10 format. A DVB-T tuner is integrated in these models to ensure TV reception in all areas.
The new combi products are perfect for people who don not just want to watch TV but also play DVDs. The integrated DVD player is fitted out of sight on the rear of the casing. The DSL-19M1WC and DSL-26M1WC combi models have 16:10 and 16:9 formats respectively. The DSL-15M1TC and DSL-20M1TC models use 4:3 imaging.
Plasma screens for maximum enjoyment
In addition to many new TFT LCD TV models DAEWOO Electronics is also presenting a new plasma TV from its A series at the IFA. The new design featuring a row of loudspeakers under the screen makes the DPT-42A3 a highly attractive product. Plasma displays are still the only ones offering a 10000:1 contrast. The current model has an integrated DVB-T tuner.
NeoSlim CRT TVs are up-to-date
Another innovation of DAEWOO Electronics is the new NeoSlim CRT TV line. These CRT-TVs are up to 30 percent slimmer than standard models.
The 29-inch NeoSlim products (DTL-29S7-100 and DTL-29S8-100) present their images using flicker-free 100-hertz technology. The range now includes the 21-inch DTB-21S7 and DTB-21S8 NeoSlim TVs. The S7 models present themselves in a classic design with a narrow silver/grey frame while the S8 models have a curved blue frame adding a touch of colour to the living room.
Blu-ray for perfect video enjoyment
The DBP-1000 is DAEWOO Electronics’ first Blu-ray player. Blu-ray discs have about five times the memory capacity of DVDs and can store the full quality of high-resolution videos. The blue laser in the Blu-ray player reads the information on the disc with a high level of precision. In addition to a fantastic image, Blu-ray also delivers outstanding sound since several audio formats such as Dolby Digital Plus and DTS HD are available.
The High Definition Movie Mode offered by Blu-ray players features many extras, such as enhanced menu properties with pop-up menus and background videos. Slide shows can jump from one image to another without interrupting the background music. Using the picture-in-picture function, viewers can for example watch a film from the Blu-ray disc and also display a second image from a second source using the USB port.
HDMI will optimize any video image
If you own a high-resolution TV, you won’t want to compromise on image quality, for example on films on standard DVDs. The solution is so-called up-scaling. If linking up the TV to, for example, a hard disc recorder via HDMI connection the image-signal will be up-scaled from a vertical 576 to 1080 resolution. The results are high definition quality pictures – no matter which source they come from.
DAEWOO Electronics is presenting various recorder models with quality enhancing up-scaling technology at the IFA: the HDD DVD recorder DRH-9415 with a 500-gigabyte hard disc and the VHS DVD recorder DRV-6815. The HDD DVD recorder DRHT-734 and VHS DVD recorder DRVT-40 also feature an integrated DVB-T tuner which turns these models into ultra-high class set-top boxes satisfying the user’s every whim.
Other new models provide a variety of possible combinations for recording to hard disc, DVD or VHS cassette.
With its new TFT LCD TVs DLT-42U1 VR and DLT-42U2 VR DAEWOO Electronics demonstrates the convenience of recording to hard disc. These two models are TVs and personal video recorders featuring an integrated 250-gigabyte hard disc. The time shift function can be used to view the start of a recording from TV while the hard disc recorder continues to record the program.
Films, TV and photos on the move
DAEWOO Electronics has given its portable DVD player a facelift. These players have seven inch screens offering users film or musical entertainment (DPC-7209PD and DPC-7909PD) or even TV via DVB-T (DPC-7900PDT) from any location. The range now also includes the DPC-8099PD-I model that has a docking station for iPods playing iPod music and image files.
Photo albums belong to the past. Today have electronic picture frames which are much more handy, have a larger capacity and can give you a slide show with background music. When you look through your holiday photos, the memories are intensified when you can listen to the summer hits at the same time. The DPF-7000D picture frame with a seven-inch screen and the DPF-8000H with eight-inch screen receive data through the SD/MMC/MS/CF card reader or the USB port.
A reliable and relaxed way to reach your destination
Top products for mobile navigation are being presented by DAEWOO Electronics in form of the DPN-4390, DPN-3505 and DPN-3506 infotainment systems. People on the move reach their destination twice as relaxed as before. The navigation system shows the direct route and avoids annoying detours. Every journey becomes a pleasure as the three orientation aids can play both MP3 and JPEG formats and DVB-T TV can be received thanks to the DPN-4390.
