In the first half of 2003 DAEWOO Electronics Europe launched many innovative new products, including a plasma display, a digital TV-receiver, a home cinema-system with DVD-receiver and surround speaker system. To ‘wake up’ a digital lifestyle DAEWOO Electronics will present at IFA its comprehensive solutions for home and mobile entertainment.

DAEWOO Electronics supplies elegantly designed displays and TVs with screen size from 15 to 60 inches for using as Mobile-TV, Home Cinema Display and also as PC monitor. The range of displays is now comprehensive and comprises Plasma Display, TFT-LCD-TV and rear projected solutions with TFT-LCD or CRT technology, as well as conventional CRT-TVs.
The trend moves away from CRT-TVs towards Flat Panel Displays that offer high performance and are becoming increasingly affordable. DAEWOO Electronics has matched the new products to customers’ needs and lifestyle by adding attractive, modern design and by combining applications.
Further Plasma Displays and TFT-LCD TV development have focused on improvement of clarity and brightness. In the world of DVD-recorders, DAEWOO Electronics have achieved the highest levels of compatibility for products by joining forces with other market leaders, such as Microsoft and Phillips, in the +RW-alliance. DVDs recorded on DVD+R or DVD+RW can be shown on nearly all DVD players.
The DVD recorder DQR-2000D allows you to record up to six hours of material and achieve the highest digital quality. Movies via cable, satellite or DVD-recorders, or material from VHS cassette, camcorder or PC, can also be saved easily.
The DHD-4000D combines a DVD player with a 40GB hard disk so that you can store 35 hours from DVD or broadcasting TV. No interruption during a film and finding no blank disc or cassette again. You can record and store personal favourites by touch of a button. It also means you can record personal preferences while watching a TV program or a DVD title.
The PVR set-top box- the DSD-9510EAR -combines digital broadcasting reception and storage. As it is basically a digital satellite set-top box, you can enjoy free-to-air broadcasts via satellite as well as encrypted broadcasts with a common interface. It also has twin tuners allowing viewing of one channel while recording the other 2 channels on 60GB of HDD at the same time.

Digital entertainment in the car
At IFA, Daewoo Electronics is presenting a new concept in in-car entertainment in the form of small, compact, digital devices. Drivers can enjoy the best sound quality from DVD, CD or MP3. Passengers can take advantage of crisp 5 and 7-inch TFT-LCD displays. Daewoo also offer car entertainment solutions, such as the Car DVD bag or Car DVD-VHS Combo bag, with display (5 or 7-inch LCD).
In the future, longer drives will be more comfortable and more entertaining for the individual or family. A combined TFT-LCD-monitor and DVD player can simply be strapped over a seat. The system is ready to use instantly as there is nothing to install. Headphones mean sound can be muted so as not to disturb the driver.
